Thomas Gazda, MD, is a board-certified adult psychiatrist at Serenity Mental Health Centers’ Biltmore office in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Gazda has nearly three decades of experience working in psychiatry and specializes in treating a variety of mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and bipolar disorder.
Dr. Gazda earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. Dr. Gazda went on to obtain his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, where he was a winner of the Richardson Scholarship to study at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology in London.
He then completed a family practice residency at the University of Vermont in Burlington, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Gazda finished his medical training with a residency in psychiatry at the University of Vermont and achieved board certification in psychiatry. He is also board-certified in addiction medicine through the American Board of Preventive Medicine and has participated in numerous clinical trials.
Dr. Gazda completed psychoanalysis training at the English branch of the Societe Canadienne de Psychoanalyse in Montreal, where he won the Levin Prize. He also completed Tavistock training at the annual Authority, Leadership, and Organization Conference in Leicester, England.
Dr. Gazda offers his patients transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), ketamine IV treatment, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, ADHD testing, and much more. He takes a holistic, integrated approach to care and follows a biopsychosocial model.
In his free time, Dr. Gazda enjoys running and has completed 17 marathons and counting. He loves spending time with his wife, three beautiful daughters, and grandchildren.
